Accessing hard drives connected to laptop through PS3

I want to play all formats of videos on my ps3. I tried to hook it up with my pc via LAN connection and succeeded in reading a few files on my laptop. But now I want to extend this connectivity to all the peripherals hooked up to my laptop, for instance my hard drive. Is that even possible?

Hi, Craig F McGee I’m sorry but there is a limitation and what you can achieve. PS3 is designed specifically for gaming. You can read any media file and others, but applying software, etc. is clearly impossible. But yes, you can hook it up by your laptop, but if you have the right cable. And software so that your laptop will recognize you devise.
