Hi. The steps for HP Officejet 6700 ink refill require you to first turn on the printer after you press the power button. Next, open the access door of the ink cartridge and by pulling it forward.
Before going further, wait until the carriage is idle and silent. Release the ink cartridge by pushing in on its front and then pull it towards yourself so as to remove it from the slot. Now, the new ink with which the old one has to be replaced should be removed from its packaging. Until and unless the ink cartridge contacts face towards the printer, they should be held. Next, the new cartridge should be placed into the slot it has and pushed forward a little so that it is in its place. Towards the end, the door of the ink cartridge should be closed.
