Aakash 2 has 256 RAM and 2GB built in memory, since it will be upgraded with Android 4.0 ICS,

Won't it affects its performance with this new updates?

Hi Abeline Sophia

Akash is the low price tablet in india. It is specially developed for the Indian students and subsidized by Indian government. Akash 2 is the new addition in Akash series.

As it is announced that Aksah 2 will get Android 4 upgrade but there are very strong concerns about this because the hardware of Akash 2 is too low for Android 4 operating system. It is hard to expect even normal performance after upgradation.

Akash 2 has only 256 Mb ram, 800MHz single core processor and 2 GB memory and it comes in range of low Android devices. These specs are good to run Android 2.2 but not for Android 4.

We have example of Google Nexus one, it has 1 GHz processor, 512 MB ram but Google will not upgrade it latest android versions.

We are keeping an eye on it for its performance after upgrade.
