2 Kingston Flash Drive different in behavior and could not be ejected

I have 2 4GB USB drive. They are both Kingston and the same model, I bought the other flash drive and the other one was a gift from my friend. My problem is when I am using the flash drive, the one that gifted to me, I cannot eject the drive, and the system says that the device is currently in use even if all applications and explorers are closed.

But if I am using the other drive, I’ve got no problem ejecting it. I am just worried that my files stored on it might be damaged because I just remove the flash drive from the USB port without ejecting it because I cannot eject.

Any help please.

Hi!

Two different devices are liable to behave in two different ways. But the error you mentioned is generally caused when there is something physically wrong with the hardware or it is also caused by some kind of virus. My suggestion for you is to format your device scan it with an updated anti virus and then try to use it and as for your already stored files on USB they are most probably crashed and damaged. However, in some cases your data may remain safe but it is vital to scan your device first if it does not work you must format it and then scan it and it will be ready for use,

Hope it helps.

Your device might be the same in the physical side but not with files inside the flash drives. You see this two device is prone to virus attacks but it depends on where you use it. You could have plugged the other one in a computer with viruses and the other is just for your house computer. The other might be clean and other is infected. Now to solve this, scan you flash drives to make sure that both has no virus it may or might not delete the virus, so in this stage, it is suggested to format your USB but making a backup first of all of your precious file inside it.
