I am having difficulty with on Linux OS on my Remote Desktop. Whenever I type ‘krdc’ in the terminal, then a windows is appeared where I give my patch with VNC:/{IP ADD} also RDP:/{IP ADD} . After that, there is error showed that desktop isn’t installed. I am not able to install desktop using YUM. Another thing is, can I share desktop and use remote desktop when I have Linux and Win XP on the other .

Hi all, I have just managed a very simple network based on Linux to share internet connection on other PCs in my office. I am using TC to mange bandwidth per client and Squid as a cache server. The difficulty is, any cached from clients is received very slowly by Squid. I need to know how to send squid objects without limit and send objects that are coming straightforward from internet speed 128kbps?

We have ‘Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4’ in our PC and our PC is not quite working , means, it is not booting. A friend of mine told me that OS is crashed. Problem is, we have very important files and data in that computer and we cannot afford to lose them. Any expert can tell the way to how to recover overcome this problem?

I am new to Linux and am still familiarizing with it. I am working with shell and I don’t understand what the load average of top implies. There are three different values that top delivers with the load average that I don’t also understand. The load value on my server is mostly 0, 85. I am hoping someone can help me understand what the normal values for the load are, their significance, and how to use the data correctly.

I have a USB flash drive on my computer. Is it possible to install Linux or Ubuntu in my USB flash drive and start up my computer from there? Will I still be able to get into all files, change printing options and do other things if I log in to my computer using the USB flash drive? What effect, if any, would it have on my hard disk? I am using Linux with my Oracle database. I was working on it and while I wanted to back up my files, when I tried selecting something in the backup selection list, I got this error message: “Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly”. More details of the error message are shown in the attached screenshot below. Please help me resolve my problem.
