Why is it necessary to remove safely hardware and eject media at all in computing? When I eject safely my pen drive from the USB port of my computer does it have any impact or sense? I am nine years of age and a student of a basic school in Ghana. My IT. teacher has always insisted that I safely remove any hardware that I slot into the USB port and I want to know why.
What are the procedures involved in casing my internal hard disk for external use? I have bought a new hard disk with one Terabytes of disk space. My R.A.T 9 gaming mouse is giving me trouble. When I try to connect it to the computer, the device either refuses to do so, or the connection is very flimsy. The receiver is seen by the computer and has power, the RAT turns on, but they don´t connect. However, if I start pressing random buttons, I sometimes get the green light (connection established) for a couple of seconds, and then everything goes back to red (no connectivity). Is the issue with the RAT or the computer? How do I fix it?
Hello. I have built my own computer (GA-880GM-UD2H Motherboard, AMD Phenom II 3.4GHz CPU, 16GB RAM), and I also own a laptop. Recently, whenever I try to download any file from Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, they seem to come in really small chunks of MBs. After a while, and a pathetic percentage, the download stops claiming errors. When I restart it, it simply resumes for some more MBs, and then stops again. The laptop has no issues. Where should I start looking for a problem? What could the problem be?
I normally use an Ethernet cable, so this in not of immediate urgency, but I am still curious. Normally my Laptop, a Sony Vaio, can pick up a lot of networks in my building, from the shop downstairs to the funny-named networks of the students upstairs. Recently, however, it seems to be unable to pick up any network, I tried flushing the DNS, but the situation did not improve. What could I try next?
What are the detailed steps involved in replacing or installing a graphics card on my desktop? I wish to upgrade the graphics card on the motherboard of my machine. I have never made an attempt to open my Central Processing Unit before and that is why I will be glad if I get a professional advice of how to go about it even though I was introduced to computer at the age of 12 Thank you.
I went to start my DELL desktop computer today, but I could not get past the initial DELL logo on the screen. I could also see the boot options with the F# keys, but I could not use any because the computer was not responding to the keyboard input. I turned everything down and unplugged my external hard drives. Next the computer turned on, but I got a “missing NTDLR” message. What should I do next? What was the problem in the first place?
I am experiencing some worrying issues with my Corsair Vengeance M90 Gaming Mouse. The LED logo on its back does not light up anymore, and only two LEDs that function are profile 1 and 6, but only together. Right now I can only use it as a regular mouse (right and left click, drag and move) and nothing else. Everything is updated, I have unplugged it and plugged it back, tried it on my laptop… nothing. What is going on? Is the mouse broken or is it a software problem?
The SD Card Reader on my XMG P306 Laptop is behaving weirdly. When I put the SD card in the slot, I see all the thumbnails of all the picture in the card with no issue. However, when I try to actually open a picture, copy it or interact with it in any way, I can’t. I get an error saying that there is no card in the system. Is this a problem of the SD card or of the Card Reader?
I had to replace the screen on my Acer Aspire One ZH9, but I could not find an exact spare because the original had a CCFL screen (backlit). I decide to settle on an LED screen (also backlit) and got the corresponding converter cable. The converter cable fits perfectly, but the new screen doesn’t work. I tried without cable as well, to no avail. I am at a lost to what to try next. Are there any avenues I can try? Could it be a software problem?
