I have been using Windows XP for a while and only having a little experience with Windows 7 on my parents' computer. I have never owned one until recently. Since I am new, I would like to get some interesting computer tips so that I am able to take good care of my computer and make sure that the performance is fully optimized. I am using my laptop for almost a year. In the meantime, I did not have to face any big problems but about a month ago, my windows 7 crashed. After that, I am unable to install win 7 again, even after a few tries. I contacted the service center and they suggested replacing the hard disk drive. However, the funny part is I have installed XP on the system and able to run my laptop but it loads very slow. What should I do at this moment?

My PC Laptop is showing corrupted windows system 32 configuration. I have purchased a windows XP service pack 2 installer to reformat my laptop to fix the issue. Unfortunately upon installation of windows XP service pack 2, my screen shows that my hard disk can't be detected but in fact it is well detected when I press the F2 key for checking my system. Does it mean hard disk failure?

I have been using Asus Firmware 10 and I have never bothered to update it all this time. Can someone tell me how to update to Asus Firmware 19? I have not experienced any challenges but I know that with the new releases that have come after Asus Firmware 10, I might be running into some danger or missing out on some important functionalities. I think I am having a problem with my Visio Message Bus since most of my applications are not able to communicate. I use several applications which initially used to communicate well but nowadays I realize that if I add a new application, there is totally no communication at all. This goes even to the extent of printing of documents. Please help.

Hello! I formatted by new toshiba laptop, however, after the formatting I realize that the battery life has substantially gone down. Is there a particular battery setting toshiba satellite that could better the life of the battery? It is worrying since I use the laptop a lot in field work. Could it be that the formatting has something to do with it?
