To view your profile page, Go to ‘My account’ and click on ‘Edit Profile’. This displays your Profile page. By default the selection is pointed to View profile page; from where you can view your profile.
Users can View their public profile, Edit their public profile, look out for Invitations, Notifications, Participate in Quiz, Track posts, Have a list of watched posts in which they are interested, See their subscriptions and Tweet.
‘My account’ section provides user the control over his/her account. User can control the personal settings, preferences and options from this panel.
To find the ‘My accounts’ page, you need to be registered on the site and logged in with valid email address and password.
Visit your details page to find the following information’s:

- Articles posted by you on the site
- Questions asked by you
- Solutions given by you

To view your activities on the site, Visit your details page. You can visit your details page by clicking on ‘Comments and solutions’ under Notifications label given at the top of the page or by entering the link http://www.techyv.com/detail/<Username> on the address bar.
To view the activity of a particular user, simply search for the user, click on his/her name to click through their profile page. You can now see all the user activity on the site. For e.g.: Say if the user has contributed 30 questions to the site, then profile page displays Questions: 30 in the user details section. You can then simply click on the number displayed to view the user posts on the site.
Profile page includes basic information about user and user activity on the site. User country, email Id, Sex, No. of Questions asked, No. of articles commented, No. of Questions with answers, tips, Blogs written, Blogs commented, Tips commented, Quiz statistics etc. are the general information included in this page. You can also see the profile picture of the user, if uploaded, on his/her profile page.
There are number of ways through which you can view a member page. To view member page, click on member list and select a member to view his /her profile page. This member list allows you to quickly visit all registered member profile pages. You can view a member page directly by using the below link on your address bar:
Every member on TechyV site has a public profile page. This page generally has information that has been given by the member, which was either given during registering or edited later from ‘My accounts’ section.
To see the sent messages, click on the ‘sent’ link provided at the top of TechyV site. This click will then redirect you to Sent messages page. You can then read the message you have sent by clicking on the message subject. Search box helps you in searching a message with the given keyword. You can compose message from this pane by clicking the ‘New message’ button.
To compose a new message, click on ‘New message’ button provided at the right hand side of inbox. This will redirect you to ‘New message’ page, where you can compose your message and send it across to your contact.
To read a message in inbox, click on the message subject. This will then open up the message body, from where you can read the message.
To choose the number of messages per page in inbox, go to ‘display’ dropdown and select the number. Minimum of 10 messages will be displayed per page.
To search for a message in your inbox, type in your search term or keyword in the ‘search’ box provided at the top of inbox and click on the ‘search’ button. Messages which contain your search keyword will then appear in the inbox.
To delete a message from Inbox, check the message checkbox, click on ‘select option’ dropdown displayed at the top of the inbox. Select’ delete message’ and click on ‘Execute’. Message now gets deleted from your inbox.
If you wish to mark a read message as Unread for your future reference, click on the ‘select option’ dropdown displayed at the top of inbox. Select the option ‘mark as unread’ or ‘mark as read’ to mark a selected message as unread/read and then click on ‘Execute’.
Automated messages are generally the messages sent by the site admin to your inbox. They are usually the instructions on any modification to your account. These messages also depend on your subscriptions to various newsletters or subscriptions to receive mails on any update to the post e.g comment on a article in the site.
Inbox contains all the messages you have received till date. These messages are usually arranged in the descending order of the date and time received with the latest at the top.
To compose a new message, click on ‘New message’ link provided in the label at the top of the site. Alternatively, you can write a new message by clicking on ‘New message’ button provided in the inbox and sent items page.
All you need to clear your cookies is to log out of the site by clicking on the ‘Logout ‘ button provided at the top of the site. If you still appear logged in after logging out of the site, you need to clear your cookies manually.
If you are a Firefox user: Click on the 'Tools' menu. Go to 'Options’. Select ‘Privacy’ from the dialog box on the left. Find 'Cookies' and click on clear button.
If you are an IE user: Click the 'Tools' menu. Go to 'Internet Options'. Click on 'Delete Cookies' in the dialog box that is displayed. This should clear your cookies.
Different browsers have different ways of clearing the cookies. Please refer to appropriate browser documentation to do the same.
If your website takes long to load refresh your webpage. If this does not resolve your problem, try clearing you cookies and reloading the webpage.
To perform search based on the category, go to solutions menu. In the search Questions field, enter a keyword and select a category from the categories dropdown. When clicked on Go, Your search is now restricted to only the selected category.
To perform advanced searches simply click on the search button without entering any search term. You will then be redirected to Advanced search page where you can filter your search term and restrict it to any of the following category say Article, Blog, Flash, Question, Tips, ALL.
Question on TechyV site refers to Query asked by the users of the site. It can be anything related to technical field and are listed under different category say Net programming, Ajax, Apple laptop, Feedback etc. Users can filter their search for Solved and unresolved Questions or based on the category.
To ask a Question go to ‘Ask a Question’ option provided under ‘Question’ menu. Users who are not logged into the site are free to post their questions from the Homepage. Simply click on the ‘Ask a Question’ button provided in the Homepage and post your Question.
Tip on TechyV site are usually referred to condensed form of. They are small creative writings that can help user and serve as a quick reference. Keep your Tip short and to the point with no exaggerations.
A blog in TechyV site is a personal journal which consists of different technical entries. Blogs written should be interactive and should have highly rich technical content in it. Try to be conversational when writing a Blog. Blogs that have the latest hot topics of the technical world attracts more visitors and are often highly rated.
Top users section displays the list of Users who have used our site most frequently. These users are selected based on the number of comments they have received on their posts say Article, Blog, tip, Question or a solution. The list in the table can be sorted in both ascending and descending order by using the arrow keys provided next to ‘Total comments’ and ‘User’ titles.
Homepage displays the most read posts at the bottom right hand corner. To view the top rated posts, go to Homepage and visit the ‘most read posts section’. This section displays 5 most read posts from each category say Article, Question, Tip and Blog. We keep track of the number of times a post is visited by site users and on the basis of number of reads; we rate a post as the most read. You can visit the post by simply clicking on the link from the ‘Most read posts’ table. To read more posts, click on ‘More’ button provided below the table.
If you are on Article tab, clicking on ‘More’ button should take you to Articles page. Similarly, if you are in Questions,Tips or Blogs tab of the ‘Most read posts’, then clicking on ‘more’ should take you to Questions, Tips and Blogs section of the site respectively.
Top 10 users are selected based on their activity on the site, their number of approved Blogs, comments, Articles, Tips, solutions, Questions and ratings received. This list keeps updating on the basis of user activity on the site.
If you are unable to find send message option or link for a member, it means the user has decided not to receive any email from other members of the site and hence the administrator has blocked sending E- mails to the user.
The site administrator holds the right to display the member list. Some user names may not be displayed in the list and may be omitted for e.g.: Users whose contribution to the site is nil.
We do not allow anyone to access our member profiles without logging into the site. You need to register with us to view member information. Sending message to any of the users will be possible only after logging into our site with valid E-mail address and Password.
Private Communication is usually done through mail. You can contact a member by sending them a message on TechyV site. Click on the member name displayed in the member list page. This will redirect you to the user details page where you can see the tips, Blogs, Questions, comments, Articles etc posted by the targeted user. Click on “Send message” option provided. Compose message and send it.
Member list can be viewed from “Members” menu provided on TechyV site. You can choose to see one of the following:
· All members
· Administrators and Moderators
· Top 10 users
· Recent user activities.
Where can I see my Notifications?
When the user logs into the site, “Notifications” label will be displayed next to the ‘‘Welcome box ‘’at the top of the page. Your Notifications will show if you have any of the following:
· Unread messages in your inbox
· Unread comments and solutions
· Link to ask your first question ;if you are a new user
· Quick link to Post your first article; if you are a new user
· Link to Post your first blog; if you are a new user
Clicking on the links provided in the Notifications label will take you to relevant page in the site.
If RSS syndication is enabled by the administrator, you will be able to view the newly created posts and forums without visiting the board. The feeds are currently provided in one format RSS.
Most of the browsers have facilities and can read the RSS feeds and they will automatically detect if feeds are available on bulletin boards.
If there are instances sign ups on this site with the sole purpose of creating a back link to another website, we consider this practice as a SPAM and we will delete these links and remove these members without any notice.
We do not allow spamming and this also involves creating links within the signature space and answering questions just for the sake of backlinking However, active users are given freedom and we are happy to allow these users to add a link to their signature space. This signature can be added for their blog or their own website.
Note: Only registered users in the site can have a mailbox
To go to your mail box, click on the label containing new message, inbox or sent link displayed at the top of the site.
To connect to TechyV pages on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Alexa, Simply click on the respective icons provided at the bottom of the homepage.
We advise our users to add their original contents into the site. We do not accept Plagiarism content in blogs/article /tips/solution. If any such Plagiarism found, we remove the posts without any notification or indication to the author.
Solutions can be copied but you need to give the URL to credit it to the site/author. Questions should not be copied for any reason. Images should be given with source if posted in solutions for better understanding.
Cookies are the reason of user appearing logged in even after clicking on the log out button provided in the site. Click on Logout, clear your cookies and restart your computer to be sure.
In order to rate a Question, Visit the Question page and select a Question. We have provided the option to rate a question at the top of the Question section. You can rate a question as: Poor, Okay, Good, Great and Awesome.
To make your search for a topic easy, we have provided the Quick search field on the Homepage. Enter the term you wish to search for and Click on “Search” button provided. All the posts in which the search term appears will then be displayed. Read and comment on the post that interests you. If you are browsing a blog, question or an article, all you need to do is to use the search section provided in appropriate page.
An article in TechyV site is a page that has some technical information in it. A well written topic should consist of a Topic, summary of the topic which is summarized comprehensively and it should have reference to some reliable source and should be linked other related topics.
Articles written should have a rich content and do justice to the topic.
For user convenience and efficient use of the site, we have categorized posts based on their ratings. To view the top rated posts, go to Homepage and visit the Top rated posts section. This section displays 5 highly rated posts from each category say Article, Question, Tip and Blog. You can visit the post by simply clicking on the link from the ‘Most read posts’ table. To read more posts, click on ‘More’ button provided below the table.
If you are on Article tab, clicking on ‘More’ button should take you to Articles page. Similarly, if you are in Questions, Tips or Blogs tab of the ‘Most read posts’, then clicking on ‘More’ should take you to Questions, Tips and Blogs section of the site respectively.
To keep you updated with the latest activity on the site, we have provided the “Latest posts” section on Homepage. Latest posts section provides you with latest updates on Article, Question, Tip and Blog. Users can click on the links in each category to visit appropriate page.
Alternatively, Users can see the latest updates on the site in “All notifications” section provided on the Homepage as well. All Notifications section keeps updating with every tip, Question, solution, Article, Blog or a comment.
What is Member list?
Member list shows the list of users who are registered with us. You can perform a member search alphabetically. Quick member search can be performed using the search box, provided you know the username. Maximum of 100 users can be displayed in a page at a time. You can choose to display 10, 20, 50 or 100 users in a page.
All notifications section displays the recent activities in the site. It can be any activity for e.g.: Comment on a question, updating a question, Writing new blog or article or a tip etc. Visit your Homepage>> All notifications section to see the latest activity on the site. This section is visible to both members and non members of the site.
When user tries to login with a wrong password, popup screen appears to assist him in recovering the password. Click on “Have you forgotten your password?” This will then redirect you to user account page where you can request for a new password by entering your Username or E-mail address. Replacement login information will then be sent to the email address specified. Follow the instructions and click on the link provided or copy and paste it in your browser. This is a one-time login, so it can be used only once. It expires after one day and nothing will happen if it's not used. After logging in, you will be redirected to password edit page, so you can change your password.
If you are already a member of TechyV site, you can directly login to the site using your Username and Password.
How do I Login?
To login to the site, Visit www.Techyv.com. Enter your Username and Password in the login field provided at the top of the page and click “Login”. You are then logged in and redirected to the homepage. You can now Ask a Question, Post a comment, Write a blog, Write an article, Write a tip and post on various threads.
How do I logout?
To log out of the site, simply click on the logout button provided in the top right hand corner of the TechyV page. When clicked on logout, your user session ends and you can no longer post into the site; however, you can still read the site contents.
In order to use all features of the TechyV site, you need to register first. When registered, member gets an identity and can use the site fully and securely. Registering on TechyV site is free of cost.
How do I register myself?
To Register on TechyV, Visit www.techyV.com. Click on the “Register” button provided at the top right hand corner. This should take you to the Registration page. Enter your Username, E-mail address, Password and click on “Create new account”. You need to agree with out terms and conditions in order to register with our site. Once registered, you will be taken to the home page of TechyV site. Your email address is secure with us and we will not display it anywhere on the site or share it with any of the members without your approval.
What additional feature does registration provide me?
Registration is free and can provide you with additional features such as:
· Posting new blogs
· Posting new article
· Posting new tip and question
To edit your public profile, go to ‘My account’ page. Click on ‘Edit’ tab provided. You can now edit your profile.

You can change your login password from My accounts>> Edit profile>> E-mail address section. Enter your new password here. We ask you to re enter your password to confirm your change. Always enter a valid email address as we send your new password and subscriptions details there.
You can send default send intervals for subscriptions. This can be set to every hour, twice a day, daily or weekly. Visit my accounts>>Edit profile >> Default send Interval section to modify the same. Please be sure not to mention any personal information that you don't want others to know.
You can have your trademark signature to use it across the site. Your signature will be publicly displayed at the end of your posts. Carefully choose one. Visit My accounts>>Edit profile>> Signature section to modify the same.
You can select a photograph/image to be used as your Techyv avatar. Visit My accounts>>Edit profile >> Picture section. Move to ‘upload picture’ section. Browse for a picture by clicking on the ‘Browse’ button. And upload a picture.
Max image size is 85x85 pixels. Max file size is 30KB. You can click to upload through Webcam as well.
We highly recommend you to upload your profile picture. Your profile picture is safe with us and we will not allow anyone to access your picture.
Message configuration allows user to have full control on his profile and what he sees. Here are the message configurations that can be modified by you.
- Enable custom messages:
• If you check this, you will receive messages/warnings sent by the site Administrator.
- Display birthday greeting:
• If this checkbox is enabled Techyv will publish a birthday greeting message for 7 days in the Upcoming Birthdays section.
- Enable zero-posts reminder:
• If you check this, you will see a notification to post something if you have not posted anything on the site.
- Display Welcome Message:
• If you check this, a 'Welcome Back' note will be displayed, if you visit the site after many days.
A message wishing you ‘Happy Birthday’ will appear on the Homepage if you have entered your birthday details in your profile.
Quiz Stat box is usually shown at the top of your profile page. It shows the Quiz you have participated in, number of points earned this week and Total points in your trolley. You can opt to display this or not to by simply check/uncheck the ‘Show quiz stat box in profile’ under My accounts>>Edit profile >> Quiz stat box option.
If you do not want anyone to comment on your posts, all you need to do is uncheck the checkboxes provided under My accounts >> Edit profile>>User comments settings section.
We have provided you the option to filter the sections to which you do not want to receive comments.
Note - Admin users can always comment without approval.
Check ‘Notify you when others post comments on your content’ checkbox provided under My accounts>>Edit profile>> User comment settings to receive e-mail notifications when new comments need your approval.
Tick the checkbox provided under My accounts>> Edit profile>> Private messages to notify you (via email), when you receive a Private Message (PM) from another user. This is highly recommended, as it helps you to respond to PMs faster.
To set your locale time zone Visit My accounts>> Edit profile>> Locale settings sections. Select your current local time. If in doubt, choose the time zone that is closest to your location which has the same rules for daylight saving time. Dates and times throughout this site will be displayed using this time zone.
You can connect to your Facebook account from fbconnect page. Go to My accounts >> Edit profile >> Facebook submenu. Click on F connect button to connect to your Facebook account. You can then keep updated with us by liking our pageon Facebook. You can import your Facebook contacts and also invite your Facebook friends to view our site and hence stay connected in technical world too.
Users can View/ Edit their personal details from My accounts >> Personal page. You should be a valid user of Techyv site to avail this privilege.

Invitation in TechyV site can be anything ranging from joining the site, joining a forum, Quiz joining request, invitation to read and comment on a blog, tip or an Article etc.
You can view the invitations you receive on My account >> Invitations page.
When you receive an invitation e.g. to join a Quiz, It has the ‘New’ status and can be viewed under ‘Pending’ invitation’ tab. You can either choose to accept the invitation or keep it pending. If you choose to accept the invitation, then you can see the same under ‘Accepted ‘tab.
We keep the invitations under ‘pending ‘to up to 30 working days after which it expires.
You can invite your friends and contacts to join TechyV site. Simply visit My accounts>>Invitations>> New invitations page. Enter the e-mail addresses of the persons you would like to invite. To specify multiple recipients, enter one e-mail address per line or separate each address with a comma. Along with the default message inviting them to join the site, you can add your input as well. Click on ‘Send Invite’.
It's sometimes difficult to keep track of posts that are interesting or which you have been posting comments on. By watching posts that you want to keep an eye on you can see (and be notified) when they're updated or changed or when new comments are posted.
To keep track of the posts that interests you, simply add them to your ‘Watch list’ by clicking on ‘You are not watching this post, click to start watching‘ link provided under the post. This post is now added to your watch list. You can now see the details like when was the post added, number of comment the post has received. Your email notification for the post is usually enabled so that you receive information of any activity on that post.
To remove the post from Watch list, click on the Remove icon provided in the watched posts page.
Move to My accounts>> My watched posts>> Settings page to make any changes to the watched posts. Here are the options available:
- Automatically enable email notifications for posts that I start watching:
° When you start watching a post, email notifications are automatically enabled for it as well. You can disable email notifications by clicking the email icon in your watched posts list.
- Send email notification when a post is updated or edited
° An email notification is sent when the post is changed, either by its original author or someone else. This is useful for being notified about changes to posts that many users may edit. You will not be notified if you edited the post yourself.
- Send email notification when a post receives a new comment
° An email notification will be sent when a new comment is posted to the post you're watching. You will not be notified about comments you have made yourself.
- Automatically watch posts that I comment on
° When you post a comment on a post, the post will be added to your watched posts list without you having to manually add it. This is handy if you always want to watch all posts you have commented on and discuss with other users.
- Automatically watch posts that I make
° Posts that you have made will automatically be added to your watched posts list. This helps you keep track of what changes are made to your posts and the comments that are posted about your posts.
Yes, you can share your watched list. By sharing your list of watched posts, other users can see it but they cannot remove or add posts or change it in any way. Simply check ‘Share my list of watched posts’ checkbox under My accounts>> My watched posts>> Settings page to do the same. When you're sharing your list, a link will appear in your profile allowing other users to browse your list of watched posts.
We have provided you with an easy single click option to completely disable all the notifications that you receive on your watched lists. Simply click on Click to disable link provided under Notifications column on your watched lists page.
In order to test your skills, we have provided an option to ‘Take Quiz’. To take your test, Click on My accounts>>Quiz. You can alternatively try taking a quiz from the label provided at the top of the site. We award you with points for the quiz taken. Total points earned and points earned every week are displayed in the Quiz statistics label at the top of the site. You should login into the site to take a quiz.
To subscribe to a Blog or an Article, click on the link ‘subscribe via email’ provided at the bottom of the post. Enter your email address in the Pop up ‘Get notified of new comments by email’ that appears.
When subscribed to any Blog, Article or tip via email, any new comments on these posts will be sent directly to your email inbox, where you may read and respond by email. This provides you with the additional facility of watching our posts without the need to login. Your reply will be posted directly on the site, without your need to visit.
You can temporarily suspend notifications from being sent, e.g. during a vacation. They will be retained and sent after you renew notifications.
To do this click on Yes or No radio button provided under ‘Receive notification’ section of My accounts >> Subscriptions>> Delivery of notifications.
Auto subscribe helps you in automatically subscribe you to a new content, update content on comments on various posts.
- Auto-subscribe to new content:
° Automatically subscribes you to items that you create.
- Auto-subscribe to updated content
° Automatically subscribes you to items that you update (if you have that permission).
- Auto-subscribe to comments
° Automatically subscribes you to items that you comment on (or where you update a comment, if you have that permission).
Your notifications can be merged to a single mail and sent to you at the interval you specify. You can set this by visiting your My accounts >> Subscriptions>> Settings. Check the ‘Digest mode’ checkbox. You can set the interval from the ‘set interval’ dropdown. Frequency can be set to As soon as possible, Every 15 minutes, hourly, every 3 hours, daily.
To receive notifications on updates and comments, set the preferences to receive notification on comments and updates. Check the on updates and on comments checkbox provided under My accounts >> subscriptions>> preferences
Users are allowed to cancel all their subscriptions. This can be done from My accounts>> Notifications page by clicking on ‘Cancel all your subscriptions’
Your default sending interval for new subscriptions is immediately.
Blogs are personal journal which are published by the author on World Wide Web and consists of different and discrete posts. Blogs written should be plagiarism free and rich in content. Any registered user can write and post a blog. This will then be reviewed by our expert team. Any plagiarism will result in blog being deleted.
Users can view the Blogs from ‘View blogs’ submenu under Blogs menu. You do not need to register or login to read any Blog.
Blogs written by our users are saved under different categories. To see all the Blogs under a category of your choice, click on the category name under the Blogs section.
Users are given the option to choose the number of Blogs that can be displayed in a page. Use ‘Display’ dropdown in the Blogs section to choose the number of Blogs. It can be 10, 20, 50 or 100 per page.
Users can read and comment on a Blog without signing in. Read the Blog and comment on it form ‘Add new comment’ section displayed at the bottom of the blog. When you click on ‘Post as..’ button, a pop up will appear asking your name and email address. Enter the same and click on Post comment.
Note – Author of the Blog sets his permission to either receive comment or not to.
You can sort the comments as: Newest first, popular now, Best rating and oldest first.
To view all the Blogs written by an author, click on author name displayed under his/her blog. You may need to login before you see details of any of our site user.
Number of reads on a Blog refers to the number of users who have visited and read that blog. We keep track of number of user’s visiting a blog and display the reads accordingly. This is usually a meter to show the most liked blog and the popularity of its content.
We have provided a back linked navigation to help you revisit the page you just visited. Simply click on the ‘Back to…’ link provided at the top of the Blogs section. It looks something like this:
You can find the list of bloggers in ‘Users with Blog’ section which is displayed in the left column of the Blog page. Click on ‘More’ to find rest of the bloggers.
Users can subscribe to receive E-mail notification on Blog updates. Click on ‘Subscribe by email’ link provided at the bottom of the blog and start receiving email updates.
You can find the list of recent blogs from under ‘Recent Blogs’ section at the bottom of the Homepage.
Users can reply to a comment and/or like a comment by clicking on the ‘Like’ /’comment’ button provided below the comment in the comments section.
Users are allowed to comment on a Blog or like a Blog without logging into the site or registering with us. We however ask for your email address and Username before posting your comment. Check the ‘Subscribe to all comments by email ‘checkbox in the ‘Before we post this, who are you?’ popup that appears to receive email notification for any update to the Blog.
TechyV is powered by DISQUS where users can build an active community. You can view the community on TechyV by clicking on ‘Expand community icon’ provided on the Blog body page. The various community you find here are new face, Most liked members, most active members.
To move to solutions page click on ‘Solutions’ menu item provided. This will redirect you to solutions page where you can find different categories. Browse through the categories to find the question and solution you are looking for.
To perform a quick search, enter your search keyword in the ‘ search’ box provided and select a category from the dropdown provided and click on ‘Go’.
Users are given option to filter their search criteria based on whether they want to see only solved questions, unresolved questions or all questions. Click on the appropriate button provided at the top of the search box provided and filer your search.
If you wish to see all the questions from under a particular category, click on the category icon provided under solution categories. You can then see the sub categories under this category further narrowing your search.
If you are unable to find the question or if solution you found isn’t satisfying, you can post your question. Click on ‘Be the first to ask question on <category>’ and post your question. Alternatively you can use the ‘Ask a question’ submenu item from under Questions menu.
To submit your solution to a particular question, simply visit the question from under the category and click on button provided. ‘Submit your comments or solution’ box opens up. Type in your inputs and click on ‘save’.
To move back to main category page from the sub category, Click on the main category name in the navigation link provided e.g.
To create an article, click on ‘create article’ submenu option under Article menu. Only registered users of the site are given an option to post their articles.
User should click on Create an article to start with writing an article. This will then redirect the user to ‘create an article’ page. Enter a title. When writing a title, choose an appropriate one as this reflects your entire post. Enter a body to your article where in you can give full detailed description. Choose a category for your article from the dropdown list and then click on save.
Users can attach a file to their article from the ‘file attachment’ section. You can upload jpg, jpeg, gif, png, txt, doc, xls, pdf, ppt, pps, odt, ods, odp files. The maximum file size allowed is 1MB.
Code section is meant for presenting any programming code that is relevant to the article. By keeping it separate, it allows for neatly arranged code content and also let’s easy viewing and copying for visitors.
We recommend users to preview their article before posting the same. Click on’ Preview’
button provided at the bottom of the ‘Create article’ page to preview your article before posting.
Use the Rich text editor to change the font, font size, color etc. of the text in your article. You can use this feature to highlight important points in your article and make it more readable.
To view Tip category list, click on ‘View Tip’ submenu under ‘Tip’ menu.
‘Related posts’ section helps users in quickly finding out the Tip which are closely related to the ones that he/she is reading. You can simply click on the link provided under ‘Related posts’ section to view these Tips.

To view the Tip under a particular category you need to Click on Tip>>View Tip. You can now select the category that interests you from the list of categories displayed.
To change the number of Tips displayed in a page click on ‘Display’ dropdown in the category page you are viewing and select the number of displays you wish to see.
To comment on a Tip, go to the Tip page you wish to comment on and add a new comment from ‘Add a new comment’ section.
To view all the Tips posted by the author, click on the author name displayed at the top of the Tip. This will redirect you to author’s detail page. Click on ‘Tips’ tab to view all his postings.
Body of the tip cannot be less than 200 words.
For the convenience of our users, we have provided you with the links that can directly redirect you to your Blogs, recent posts or quiz page. This ‘Quick link’ section can be found in the left hand side of every page you see. We have also provided you with ‘Create content’ link with the help of which you can create your own blog, article, tip and question.
To provide users with a quick update on the latest happenings in the site, we have provided you with ‘Top posts’ section. This section has ‘Latest posts’ and ‘Top posts’. ‘Latest posts’ section displays 5 most recent posts on the site where as ‘Most read’ posts display the 5 most popular posts on the site. This section is updated with every post and every read respectively.
Subcategories displayed under the main menu are the quick links through which you can read the articles belonging to that particular category. This is how it looks:
You can find ‘Article tag cloud’ section in every article page. Click on the categories that is displayed in the tag cloud to jump to that particular category.

Users can subscribe to receive email notification about any update on the article by clicking on the ‘Subscribe by email’ link provided at the bottom of the article page.
To comment on an article, go to the article page you wish to comment on and add a new comment from ‘Add a new comment’ section.
To change the number of articles displayed in a page click on ‘Display’ dropdown in the category page you are viewing and select the number of displays you wish to see.
To view the articles under a particular category you need to Click on Article>>View Article. You can now select the category that interests you from the list of categories displayed.
To answer questions on our site, you need to be a registered user with valid E-mail address and Password. You need to login to the site to post your answer.
In order to delete your question from the site, you have to contact our moderators. You can mail them individually and submit your request with reason for deletion.
If the user wishes to make changes to the question he has asked, click on ‘Ping moderator’ button . In the pop up that appears pen down your changes and submit. Our moderators will then review your request before updating your question.
The user who has asked the question reserves the right to accept the answers. To accept the answer click on 'Accept the solution' button displayed next to the given answer. You should then confirm your acceptance or can click on cancel if you deny from accepting the answer.
If you have closed your notification they will restore once refreshed.
When you receive an answer to your question, you will be notified depending on your profile settings. The comments and solutions section at the top the site will display the notification as seen in the picture:
To view all the questions asked by an author, click on author name displayed under ‘Author’ column in Question page or author name displayed in a question body.
Note – You should login to the site to view details of any user in the site. Some information’s may be hidden from you depending on the user personal settings.
To view all the questions from under a particular category, click on the category name displayed under ‘category’ column of Question page or Category name displayed in a question body.
Edit option is available to you only until someone comments on your post. Once you receive a comment on your post, you have to contact the site administrator to modify your question.
If a question has no solution or no acceptable answers, try our ‘Related topics’ section. This section is displayed at the bottom of the Question page. It contains a list of questions that are closely linked to the one which you are currently viewing. Click on ‘More’ button provided to see more related questions.
Users can view a minimum of 10 comments and maximum of 300 comments per page. This can be set under ‘comment viewing options’ in a Question body page.
You can view the comment to a question in one of the following ways. You can have the Threaded list collapsed or expanded, flat list collapsed or expanded. You can also sort the comments received based on the date- Oldest first or Newest first.
We have a team of experts who validate the answers. The user who has asked the question will choose to accept your answer. Once the solution is accepted ‘Solution accepted’ tag is displayed on the solution. This helps user in identifying the right answer to a question.
To share a question on Facebook, visit the question page and view the question. We have provided a F share button.
Clicking on the button will take user to TechyV page on Facebook, which you can then share with your contacts. F Share button also shows the number of shares a question has received.
Reading post from Question page is now easier. To read the posts from Question page, simply click on the question links displayed under Title column. This should then redirect you to appropriate question page on the site from where you can read the solutions to the question (if you are watching a resolved question) or comment on the question. You need to login to the site to comment on the question.
Users are given the option to filter their search to make their search easier, appropriate and comfortable. Searching for Questions can be done using 2 filters. You can either search for resolved questions or unresolved ones.
Users are given the option to choose the number of questions being displayed in the page. IN the ‘display’ dropdown provided at the top of the page, select the number. Question list will be displayed accordingly. You can choose to display 25, 50 or 100 questions per page.
To clear the search field, simply click on the clear icon provided next to it. You can also select (CTRL+A) the keyword written and delete it.
You can quickly search for a Question by using the ‘search field ‘provided at the top of the questions section. Enter a keyword and click on Search. All the posts with the searched keyword will then be displayed on the question list.
Users can sort the Question list in either ascending or descending order of the date posted, status, Reads, Author name or category.
Ask a Question popup has Title, Question, E-mail ID, Search fields. Title and Question are mandatory fields. You can hide your search box.
Title – Short and clear words to explain the summary of the question
Question- This includes elaborate description of the question. Please include as much information as possible in this field, so that our experts are clear about the question and can answer your questions easily.
E-mail id – This is not a mandatory field, However if you give your E-mail address, the question will be sent to your inbox and you will be notified when an expert answer your question.
Search – In the search field use the ID that was generated when entering your question. If you have given E-mail id when asking a question, then please do refer your inbox to find the ID for that question else you may have to check the recent posts section to find your question.
To view the list of questions on the site, go to ‘View Questions’ item provided under the Questions main menu. You can view the Question list with their category title, status, Author who posted it, date posted and number of reads.
Users are allowed to upload an image with their question from the ‘file attachment’ section of ‘your question’ page. You can upload jpg, jpeg, gif, png, txt, doc, xls, pdf, ppt, pps, odt, ods, odp files. The maximum file size allowed is 1MB.
You can ask a Question by clicking on button provided on either the homepage or the Questions page and ask your question.
Alternatively, you also use the ‘Create content’ section provided under ‘Quick link’ section. You will be asked for a valid login when clicked on this link. Enter your login details to post a Question.
Users are allowed to ask a Question without logging into the site. You need not be a registered user to ask a Question. Click on button provided on either the homepage or the Questions page and ask your question.
Question on the TechyV site refers to a Query asked by the users of the site. Our experts will try and answer this question in 24 hrs duration. Users of the site can answer these question thread too.
